ABOUT
the project
Throughout British history rent strikes have acted as powerful methods of protest in order to respond to issues within social housing.
This project explored two rent strikes; one hundred years apart. Although they occur in drastically different social contexts they are united by the themes of leadership, community and resistance.
Our film follows a campaign at Sussex that seeks to improve student accommodation. The University has a rich tradition of radical student activism but the campaign must face an increasingly disengaged student body and an administration that refuses to listen.
